After a busy summer of traveling and racing, it was nice to have a couple of weeks of rest and recreation. But by no means does that mean I was sitting on my butt sipping margaritas...I've been busy training for the final enduro race of the season in Revelstoke, BC - which is shaping up to be quite the 2-day race - and shooting photos and videos.
Nicola riding along Record Ridge on the Seven Summits. Old classic trails, ridden backwards, reward with new views and unique challenges.
It's also meant a lot of time in the saddle exploring the far reaches of trails Rossland and the Kootenays have to offer. It's so great to (re)discover trails around your home, and to be truly grateful for what we have. I may be biased, but I think the Kootenays have some of the best riding on the planet.
Nicola again traversing the unique alpine grasslands Rossland has to offer.
I'm excited to have purchased a new Sony a6000 camera, a compact but extremely powerful little unit, to shoot riding and in particular my son Bodhi. I'm stoked Smith Optics has decided to bring Bodhi into their family and we're looking to find more companies that support little groms on a meteoric rise. We hope to have the edit out in the next couple weeks.
Yours truly grunting up the long ridgeline climb on the south end of the Seven Summits. Fall days are approaching, meaning rain, sun and more rain...and offering amazing photographic opportunities.
Meanwhile, I've also been starting on the community pump track redesign and build, and am gearing up to help run the Huck 'n Berries Jump Jam going down this weekend in Rossland. Then it's off to Revi. I guess that's what we call "R & R" in the Kootenays!
