Myself and a few dedicated diggers completed a top-to-bottom buff of our extremely popular Supermegawesome trail and have begun a new XC trail that will allow people to pedal back up from the bottom of the same trail. Once complete, it will provide an all-singletrack, 30k loop from Rossland.
Myself and Mark Daugherty have also completed a new pumptrack at Rossglen Bike Park in Rossland that is proving immensely popular. This fall, we are putting in much needed water lines and plan to extend the track with a pump-track flow trail and another loop. Finally, Rossland has a purpose-built, proper pump track!
I continue as a director on the Kootenay Columbia Trails Society and have helped coordinate several valuable projects, most notably a phased rebuild of the Dewdney Trail – a popular downhill trail and the final leg of the famous Seven Summits Trails.
In addition to continuing the XC loop project, we hope to finally connect the Joy Division jump line on Woopidydoo, which will result in a 32-gap jump line ranging from 10-25 feet. I don’t know of any non-bike park line like it anywhere else…come visit, and bring your big boy pants!
